Prayer

At GoSevashrama, prayer is not merely a ritual — it is a heartfelt expression of gratitude and reverence toward Gomata, the Divine Mother who sustains life on Earth. Each day begins and ends with devotion, offering light, sound, and service to the gentle presence of the sacred cow. Through prayer, we connect with her nurturing spirit, invoking blessings for harmony, health, and the welfare of all beings.
Our daily prayers are simple yet profound. Devotees and caretakers gather around the cows with pure hearts, chanting mantras such as “Om Surabhyei Namah”. The sound of these sacred vibrations fills the ashrama with peace, reminding us of our eternal bond with nature and the divine. Lamps are lit, flowers are offered, and the fragrance of incense carries our prayers to the heavens — not for personal gain, but for the well-being of the world.
Morning and evening aartis are moments of stillness and surrender. The morning prayer welcomes a new day of seva (service) and gratitude, while the evening prayer concludes with collective reflection, thanking Gomata for her nourishment and protection. These moments of devotion inspire compassion, discipline, and humility among all who participate.

Beyond daily worship, GoSevashrama also conducts special prayer gatherings for specific occasions — such as full moon days, Gopashtami, and festivals dedicated to cow protection and welfare. Devotees may offer ghee lamps, fodder, fruits, or flowers as part of their prayer offerings. Each act of offering symbolizes respect for all living beings and the environment that sustains us.

Visitors are warmly invited to join these prayer sessions. Whether by reciting a mantra, lighting a lamp, or simply sitting in silent contemplation, every expression of faith contributes to the spiritual harmony of the ashrama. Through collective devotion, we aim to cultivate a world filled with kindness, respect, and love for the divine presence embodied in Gomata.

The essence of GoSevashrama’s prayer is beautifully captured in the ancient saying:
“Gābah Viśwasya Mātaram” — The Cow is the Mother of the Universe.
To remember her is to remember our duty to protect life, preserve nature, and nurture compassion in every heart.
